Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.
This week we have come to a pinnacle in our country. People have been set against one another by hate, by misunderstanding, by manipulation, by misinformaiton and by a host of other dynamics that have played out and created a deep division among citizens. Images and opinions have lit up our communication outlets and are fueling the fear and distrust that promote the barriers between people.
It is time we refocus on what binds us together instead of who pulls us apart. We are told time and time again in the Bible that God is our unifier. Romans 12:16 tells us to “Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!” We are all equal. God tell us we are all equal! How incredible is that? We have been told by the highest power that we are all equal. So if God tells us we are all equal, why do we listen to other whose words divide us by telling us some are less or some are more. Stop listening to them and hear the Word of God.
Matthew 12:25 explains to us that “Any city divided by civil was is doomed and a town of family splinted by feuding will fall apart.” Stop the feuding and come together as God intended. Reconcile the relationships so we do not fall as a nation. Reconcile with God so that we are all strong and resistant to the hate and manipulation. Check your heart and ask yourself is the anger in your soul stronger than love of God in your life. When you protest, do you do so out of love or out of hate. It is ok to be angry but do not live in the anger. Live in prayer and fasting.
Yes prayer and fasting. Lay the anger and fear at the feet of God in the name of Jesus Christ and commit yourself to the unity God can bless us with. We have bigger battles to fight but we cannot win if we are undivided.
Join me in fasting, for our country and the unity of it’s people. For the next 30 days go to war on your knees and strengthen yourself in God’s presence.

Be the light, glowing in the darkness!
