Pray!

Have you prayed about it more than you have complained about it?

Have you prayed about it before you have posted it on Facebook?

Have you prayed about it more than you have worried about it?

Have you prayed about it or are you in denial about it? Have you prayed about rather than promote it as a badge of honor?

Have you prayed?

Have you prayed in the word those passages that relate to what you are going through? If I were to ask you what scriptures you are finding to pray over your issue, could you tell me?
Sometimes it is so easy to do all other activities besides pray. It is easy when you see a friend and they inquire how you are, to immediately go into worries, struggles, pain etc.. of your life. It is easy when something happens to immediately post it on social media! It is easy for some to take their worries and wear them as a mantel of prestige. I have even seen people who try to “one up” someone elese worry! But have they truly prayed and got into the word for comfort and direction. Or how about when some one uses others worries as a way of gossip, (that there is a whole other conversation)

Some times it is hard to pray because we don’t know what to say and lack confidence of speaking to God.  God knows your heart, he wants you to come to him. Be yourself, that is who He loves.  Praying His Word is one way to gain confidence, after all it is God’s Word, He wrote it. It also helps you know what He has to say to us.

In Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

God is telling us that His word is “alive and active… ” it penetrates our very being, mind, body, soul! Can you imagine as you pray the Word of God those very devine words are seeping into you, to the very core on who you are? Think about it being so powerful that your “joints and marrow” are affected. That is power! That is the result of praying in the Word of God rather than wasting energy complaining on other outlets that have no power other than to ascerbate the issue.
Next time you bring your petition of prayer to someone or even on social media, put with it the scripture you are praying so many will be praying that scripture with you.
Here is an example if you are seeking a stronger marriage:

Proverbs 20: 6 Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find? 7 The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.

Tell who you share with, (and I know a lot of you married people have complained about your spouses to someone,) to pray this scripture “God grant us unfailing love, let us be faithful to you and to each other, help us lead blameless and faithful lives, help us be an example to our children and bless them.” if you are praying for someone else just replace “us” with their name.
You have just prayed God’s word. You have just released into your life, power like none other. You have just petitioned God to move in your life and the lives of others.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

Folks that is power! Try it and let me know in the comments how the power of God is moving in your life. Also if you want me to pray your scripture with you, send me those as well.

For now my friends, I leave you with these words from 1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.
